The students are admitted to various courses through a common entrance test conducted by the Punjab State Govt. Higher Education Department. The common entrance test has separate weight age for physical fitness, academic record and level of sports participation. Majority of the toppers in the entrance examination seek admission to this college which shows the greater demands for the courses run by the college. The College is offering following Courses.

The syllabus is unitized. Out of the total 8 hours teaching, 4 hours are divided for sports activity and 4 hours for theory papers. The four hours activities under the “skill and prowess” section of the syllabus are conducted in two sessions–2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening. The motto of the college is “Happy childhood, virile youth and capable citizen”. Through theory and practical knowledge the institution aims at grooming dedicated leaders in Physical Education and Sports. The college translates its vision into action through various extension services and co curricular activities. The activities and programmes are framed taking into consideration the changing values in health fitness and athletic performance. The college is following the syllabi prescribed by the university. The teacher trainers are sent to neighbouring schools for a month long practice teaching. During the practice teaching and on special occasions students assist the schools in organizing intramural and extramural tournaments. Through these activities they get training in making the tracks and officiating the athletic meets and tournaments. Out of the 270 working days 188 are teachings days. The college has established linkage with institutes like National Institute of Sports (NIS) Patiala and Punjabi University Sports Dept. and Sports Dept. Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology and utilizes their facilities for academic and sports related activities. The activities under skill and prowess are organized systematically an the students excel in performance in their field of specialization.
